Okay, so I’m the worst.
I decided to launch a newsletter JUST before I flew out to Bali and then celebrated my sister’s wedding in Albury.
And then I started getting subscribers (HELLO YOU!!!).
But then I didn’t send out… ANYTHING. 🥲
So here I am, STILL EXTREMELY EXHAUSTED but with a teeeeny bit of “down time” available to just send something out.
Cause wowoowowowowowowow, I have a ton of things sitting in the drafts and nothing published.
I didn’t even purchase my domain name yet to create a “profesh” email address but WHATEVAAA.. life doesn’t need to be perfect so here we go!
I rather choose the path of action then inaction! 😉
Enjoy this cute lil list of things that make me happy!
I wrote this a few weeks ago instead of choosing to doomscroll and I encourage you to do the same!
If you vibe with any of the below, LET’S BE FRIENDS! 🫶🏼
Presenting… things that make me happy!
Eating cakes with my friends.
Seeing my baby smile and laugh.
Seeing my parents do belly laughs when my kid does something funny.
Beach days - seeing my baby splash ferociously in the water and excitedly walk into the ocean (yes, towards the incoming waves!).
Rainy days in Melbourne because they remind me of Vancouver. They remind me of home. ❤
Drinking cold, icy drinks on a hot day. Especially on 40 degree days in Australia (yuck!).
Ice-cream. In particular: mint choc, pistachio, hazelnut, anything with texture and crunchy bits (yum!).
Japanese food - aburi salmon, creamy carbonara udon, sushiiii (anything from Vancouver!). I miss eating those special, crazy rolls over there.
Traveling.
Going to the airport, getting on a plane, and watching the plane take off.
Being reunited with old friends, the ones who know your inside jokes and traumatic past.
Laughing with my besties… in the most perfect, beautifully obnoxious way.
Overcoming challenges.
Doing things that scare me.
Finishing the Grouse Grind (#iykyk).
Climbing Mt. Fuji and reaching the top at sunrise (I didn’t love the process but I loved completing it).
Being able to take my parents out on vacation and paying for everything.
Dancing like nobody’s watching.
Dancing with my friends to work out and posting it online to show strangers that it’s okay to make a fool of yourself.
Laughing at everything because you don’t take life too seriously.
Making fun of my partner because that’s how we show each other we love each other (the banter is wild in this household, lol).
Being able to choose when I can sleep and wake up (this is a rare thing when you have a baby but possible, lol).
Meeting someone who matches my vibe (e.g. super quirky, slightly dry humour, passionate in so many things, positive and energetic, has a zest for life, loves oversharing…)
It’s funny because I was able to imagine some of my friends who fit that description to the tee.
And if you fit it as well, come join me on this journey to find our spark together!
May your year be filled with all of the things that make you happy and spark joy in you. :)
Have the best day!
xoxo, knd.
