So fun fact: I have a Bachelor’s in Marketing & Entrepreneurship and lo’ and behold…. I suck at both of those things. LOL

When I was in uni, I scored my first co-op job as a Junior Marketing Coordinator at a tech accelerator (literally had the best boss there!) and once I graduated, I was hired as their Communications Specialist (it’s so funny that I remember all of these job titles like it was just yesterday!).

I LOVED the work and the culture at my first gig out of uni (the people made it so fun!).

But working in a tech accelerator made me exposed to all of the ultra cool and hip tech companies out there and that’s when I told myself that I rather be a part of building and designing a product rather than marketing one.

Product people are so cool. 😎

That was my thinking in 2016 and fast forward ten years… I MADE IT HAPPEN!

I became a Product Designer and was able to work with some amazing teams around the world building a ton of cool tech solutions (!!!).

But what did I sacrifice by moving into Product Design?

Leaving the MARKETING WORLD!!

And omg, marketing moves and changes so much, year after year.

I mean, I have had flukes where my Reels have entered the 100k - 200k views range (nope, not a million view girlie here lol).

And okay, MAYBE I’ve had some pretty good luck in terms of landing jobs since I’m on top of my LinkedIn game.

But other than that… marketing is this big, black hole… errr, galaxy… that is pretty much NEEDED for any business to thrive and I think I would like to learn more about it.

In the past few days, I started tip-toeing around creating UGC videos and signing up for affiliate marketing memberships to brands/products I want to promote.

But OMG, one of the criteria needed to work with this one affiliate marketing organisation was that I needed at least 500 followers on Instagram and I currently only have 247 followers on my @skipandsoar account so…. BOO-URNS.

It’s time to grow it a BIT more so I can try my best to make a little bit more income.

If you’d like to help a girl make her dreams come true, could you please share my IG to some folks who would be interested in my content?!

IT WOULD MEAN THE WORLD TO ME.

Okieee, once again… THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT and cheers to becoming less of a marketing n00b!

See you on the flip side!

xoxo, knd.
